The school is a residential institution for boys only. Admissions are made once a year in April, in classes VI and IX only. Candidates must qualify in the entrance examination to be eligible for admission. Boys who are between the age of 10 � 11 years and 13 � 14 years respectively on 1st July of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the examination for entry in Class VI and IX respectively. Subject to availability of sufficient candidates for the written examination, centres will be Almora, Bageshwar, Bareilly, Champawat, Dehradun, Ghorakhal, Gopeshwar, Haridwar, Lucknow, New Tehri, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Roorkee, Rudra Prayag, Udham Singh Nagar & Uttarkashi. Allotment of examination centre will be at the discretion of the school. The candidates of Uttarakhand domicile will be entitled for 67 % seats including reservation for SC / ST / Defence categories and 33% seats are offered to boys of other states. The Entrance Examination for selection of candidates is normally held on the first Sunday in January, every year.
